Judith Wilson

For the Transforming the Crown catalogue (1997), Judith Wilson supplied the essay ‘Surfing the “Black” Diasporic Web: Postcolonial British Art and the Decolonization of U.S. Visual Culture’. Judith Wilson spoke at the Shades of Black conference held at Duke University, 19 - 22 April 2001. Her paper, “Triangular Trades: Late-Twentieth Century “Black” Art and Transatlantic Cultural Commerce” (part of the “Approaches to Diasporic Aesthetics and the Role of Criticism” panel) is reproduced in Part One of the book Shades of Black, subtitled Assembling Black Arts in 1980s Britain.
