The Art of Ben Jones: Evolution - Revolution

Solo show at Rich Mix Centre for the Arts. 2011
Date: 13 January, 2011 until 24 February, 2011

Second solo exhibition in London by Jersey City-based African-American artist, Ben Jones. The Art of Ben Jones: Evolution - Revolution was shown at Rich Mix Centre for the Arts, 13 January - 24 February 2011. A lavish full colur catalogue accompanied the exhibition. The exhibition featured Jones’ ongoing work celebrating African diasporic identity, the image of the Black male, figures from Black history, as well as other aspects of cultural identity. Added to these ongoing concerns, the exhibition also featured some of Jones’ newer work, visualising the catastrophy of the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, and its devastating impact on the environment and lives of communities of people affected.
