Lee Hudson Simba

Born, 1956 in Hanover, Jamaica

Lee Hudson Simba had work included in Double Vision: An exhibiton of contemporary Afro-Caribbean art, held at Cartwright HallBradford, 8 November 1986 - 4 January 1987. Within the Double Vision poster/brochure, the text on him included “Lee is an artist with a great social and political awareness. He is fundamentally a multi-media creative person and is as comfortable making drums as he is using words or sculpting. He came from a strong rural Jamaican culture and recalls: ‘At an early age I entertained local elders in the evenings, dancoing and singing while they played concertinas, rattles and drums.’ (From a letter by Lee Hudson Simba.)
