Marjorie Husain

Art critic, author, curator and painter Marjorie Husain compiled and edited a major book on Pakistan-born artist. Ahmed Parvez. published by Rangoonwala Trust in 2004. With this book, Husain, an authouritative voice on artists of Pakistan,  brought into existence a substantial publication on an artist who had spent significant periods of time in the UK, New York, and Pakistan itself. To date, it represents the largest assembled body of material on Parvez. The flyleaf contained the following biographical outline on Husain:

“Marjorie Husain is a well-known art critic in Pakistan who has curated and organized art exhibitions both at home and in foreign countries. She has written a history of art in the subcontinent for the Pacific Asia Museum, Pasadena, USA, traced the history of art in Karachi for: Karachi Megacity of Our Times (O.U.OP.), compiled and edited a book for Oxford University Press: Aspects of Art. In 2003 she wrote a monograph on S. Ali Imam: Man of the Arts, Published by FOMMA. The book on Ahmed Parvez is a celebration of his colourful life and work.”
