From the catalogue, Creation for Liberation Open Exhibition Art by Black Artists, 1987: “Born in Jamaica in 1959, Opio studied at the Jamaican School of Art from 1978-1981. He came to England in 1981 and studied ceramics and sculpture at Chelsea School of Art from 1981-1983. He has exhibited at the Black Art Gallery on several occasions and at the Royal Festival Hall. A full-time artist and designer, Opio has also worked at the Black Art Gallery.”
