James Porter

In his capacity as Director of the Commonwealth Institute, James Porter provided an Aubrey Williams Note of Appreciation to the substantial catalogue produced to accompany Aubrey Williams Exhibition which ran for six days, at Shibuya Tokyu Plaza, Japan, May 9 - 15, 1988.

Williams was to die within two years of this exhibition, on 27 April 1990. A few weeks later, on Tuesday 12 June 1990, the Commonwealth Institute hosted Aubrey Williams | A Celebration.  James Porter, in his capacity as Director General, Commonwealth Institute provided a Welcome with Memories for this commemorative event of Williams’ life and work.
