Lubaina Himid is Professor of Contemporary Art at the University of Central Lancashire and has lived and worked in Preston since 1991. She has exhibited widely during the past 25 years both in Britain and internationally with solo shows at Tate St Ives, Transmission Glasgow, St Jorgen’s Museum Bergen and at Peg Alston Fine Art in New York.

She represented Britain at the 5th Havana Biennale, has shown at the Studio Museum in Harlem and the Grazer Kunstverein. She has paintings in several public collections including Tate Britain, the Victoria & Albert Museum, Birmingham City Art Gallery, Bolton Art Gallery, New Hall Cambridge and the Harris Museum and Art Gallery in Preston.
