Postcard of work by Chila Kumari Burman, issued in celebration of International Women’s Day 1990. The image was The smile you send out returns to you, mixed media, 40 x 28” (no date given). The card contained the following information about International Women’s Day: “March 8th was first proposed as International Women’s Day by Clara Zetkin at the International Women’s Conference held in Copenhagen in 1910. The date commemorated two historic labour and suffrage demonstrations by women in New York in (sic) March 8th 1907 and 1908. International Women’s Day is now celebrated by women throughout the world.”
